As part of its highlighted activities to close the year 2023 symbolically, Friends of Deji-Ola Foundation, has, once again, reached out to vulnerable people in society through their special project called ‘Clothe the Needy’.
The activity, which captured nine communities in the ancient city of Ibadan, recorded over 500 beneficiaries.
A beneficiary, who do not want her name to be mentioned on media, eulogized the NGO for its philanthropic moves, especially during this hard time, while also charging all capable personalities in the state to emulate such gestures.
According to her: “people are really passing through hard time and the best way to lift their souls is to spread helping hands to them through voluntary donations and supports”
The Convener, Prince Deji Ola, appreciated all their Volunteers, Donors and well wishers for
the show of love and their continued supports.
Ola, who reiterated that his friends under the auspices of FOD are always poised towards any initiative capable of touching lives of common citizens on the street of Oyo and Nigeria at large, explained that the NGO has been doing this since 2018.
“In the last 5 years, we have impacted many lives through our special initiates like; random act of kindness, clothe the needy, one book one pen, free tutorial, food bank, capacity building, environmental awareness and sanitation amongst others” he asserted.
He, however, appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE for his effective leadership which has really helped in creating enabling environment and reawakening the sleeping giant in youths. He also stated that, the event marks the end of their one month highlighted activities noting that, 2024 promises to be full of positive impacts.
Some of the volunteers who actively participated in the humanitarian mission emphasized their readiness to always contribute their quota to the development of Oyo State. Recall few days ago, the NGO cleaned Agodi and its environs via their Year End Mega Cleanup activity.
