The member representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter, has demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development by providing financial supports to two communities for road improvement projects and community support.

The lawmaker donated N500,000 to the Afowosowopo Community Association in Ward 2, to facilitate palliative works on the road linking Asunle to Tipper Garage, a route described by residents as critical to transportation and economic activities in the area.

The donation was a prompt response to a letter of request written to the lawmaker by executives of the community association

In addition, Hon. Akintayo fulfilled a pledge of N200,000 to Akinfenwa Community in the Boluwaji Area of Ward 7, aimed at supporting community development efforts and improving infrastructure within the neighbourhood.

The pledge was made when Hon Akintayo donated 10 solar powered streetlights to the area during one of his Light Up Oluyole Constituency Initiative.

In a statement made available to journalists during the weekend, Hon. Waheed Akintayo disclosed that the next phase of distribution of Solar street lights will soon commence at areas that are yet to benefit from the initiative.

Recall that Hon Waheed Akintayo had distributed over two hundred solar powered streetlights in the first two phases of his Light Up Oluyole Constituency Initiative.

Hon. Akintayo reiterated his commitment to addressing the pressing needs of communities across Oluyole State Constituency through practical interventions and continuous engagement with residents.

According to him, the road palliative project in Afowosowopo would ease transportation challenges, improve access for motorists and pedestrians, and enhance commercial activities along the Asunle-Tipper Garage corridor.

“Development begins at the grassroots, and as a representative of the people, I remain committed to supporting community-driven initiatives that directly improve the lives of our constituents. These interventions are part of our resolve to complement government efforts in bringing development closer to the people,” Akintayo said.

Leaders of the Afowosowopo Community Association expressed appreciation for the N500,000 support, describing it as a timely intervention that would accelerate efforts to rehabilitate the deteriorating road.

Similarly, residents and leaders of Akinfenwa Community in Boluwaji who had earlier benefitted from the lawmaker’s solar powered streetlight, commended Hon Waheed Akintayo for fulfilling his N200,000 pledge, noting that the gesture reflected his sincerity and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
