The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo East and Oyo Southeast Local Council Development Area (LCDA) branch, under the leadership of Alhaji Comrade Sarafadeen Salawudeen Gbolagade, has extended warm congratulations to Hon. Oluokun following his emergence as the consensus chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the forthcoming local government election.
In a congratulatory message made available to Heritage Echo, the union described Oluokun’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership qualities, dedication to grassroots development, and unwavering commitment to public service. The union noted that the consensus endorsement reflects the confidence reposed in him by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters who believe in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership at the grassroots.
According to the union Chairman, Gbolagade, Oluokun has consistently demonstrated exceptional character, humility, and a passion for community development, qualities that have earned him widespread respect across the local government area.
NULGE further expressed optimism that, if elected, the APM chairmanship candidate would prioritize policies and programmes that would improve governance, enhance service delivery, and promote the welfare of local government workers while accelerating socio-economic development within the council area.
The union also commended the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement for conducting a transparent and peaceful consensus process, describing it as a demonstration of internal democracy and unity within the party ahead of the local government polls.
While wishing Oluokun a successful campaign, the union urged him to remain focused, accessible, and committed to the aspirations of the people. It also encouraged residents of Oyo East and Oyo Southeast LCDA to continue supporting peaceful political engagement and democratic processes for the overall progress and development of their communities.
