The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, popularly known as Wabkem, and his Vice Chairman, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, have emerged as the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) consensus Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates, respectively, ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
Their emergence followed extensive consultations among party leaders and stakeholders, who unanimously adopted the duo as the party’s standard-bearers in recognition of their leadership qualities, administrative competence, and remarkable contributions to grassroots development during their current tenure in office.
In a statement made available to Heritage Echo, party stakeholders described the consensus arrangement as a reflection of the confidence reposed in the Wabkem-led administration, noting that the decision was reached after careful assessment of the achievements recorded under his leadership.
According to the stakeholders, the administration has distinguished itself through the execution of people-oriented projects, improved service delivery, infrastructural renewal, youth and women empowerment initiatives, and the promotion of peace and inclusive governance across Atiba Local Government.
They added that the overwhelming endorsement of the chairman and his deputy underscores the party’s determination to consolidate on the developmental gains already recorded rather than interrupt the momentum of progress.
The stakeholders further commended the peaceful and transparent consensus process, describing it as a demonstration of the unity, maturity, and internal cohesion that continue to strengthen the Allied Peoples Movement within Atiba Local Government.
Reacting to their emergence, Hon. Wabkem expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Distinguished Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, party leaders, stakeholders, members, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him and his running mate.
He described the consensus endorsement as a great honour, saying it represents not only an affirmation of the administration’s performance but also a renewed mandate to deepen good governance and accelerate grassroots development.

Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide equally expressed appreciation for the opportunity to continue serving the people, pledging to sustain the harmonious working relationship that has characterised the present administration while supporting initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive governance and sustainable development.
Political observers within the local government described the consensus endorsement as a significant boost for the Allied Peoples Movement ahead of the election, expressing optimism that the party would build on its existing support base through unity, continuity, and effective grassroots mobilisation.
With the emergence of Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (Wabkem) and Hon.
