The Councillors of Oyo East Local Government, also known as the Legislative arms, have congratulated the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Olusola Peters Oluokun, on his emergence as the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) consensus Chairmanship candidate for a second term ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
In a congratulatory message, the councillors described Oluokun’s emergence through a stakeholders’ consensus arrangement as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding leadership, administrative competence, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
They noted that the unanimous endorsement by party leaders and stakeholders reflects the confidence reposed in his ability to consolidate on the achievements recorded during his first tenure and sustain the delivery of quality governance at the grassroots.
According to the councillors, Oluokun’s administration has been characterised by people-centred policies, infrastructural development, improved service delivery, and an inclusive leadership style that has continued to foster peace, unity, and progress across Oyo East Local Government.
They commended the leadership and stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement for conducting a peaceful and transparent consensus process, describing the exercise as a demonstration of the party’s internal cohesion, maturity, and commitment to democratic values.
The councillors further urged party members and supporters to remain united and steadfast in their support for the consensus candidate, stressing that collective commitment and harmony would be instrumental to the party’s success in the forthcoming election.
They expressed confidence that Oluokun, if re-elected, would build on the developmental milestones already recorded by his administration and continue to implement programmes and projects that will improve the welfare and socio-economic well-being of residents across all communities in Oyo East Local Government.
