No fewer than one thousand teachers in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared open support for Governor Seyi Makinde and candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The educators made the declaration during a formal meeting with the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen. The gathering brought together newly recruited teachers, leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), labour union representatives, local government executives and other stakeholders from across the council area.

The teachers unanimously identified with the Makinde-led state government, citing its teacher-friendly policies. These include adequate and fair employment of teachers, timely payment of salaries and wages, as well as several bonus pay awards.

According to the educators, the best interest of teachers across the state lies in the continuation of the good governance being championed by Governor Makinde. They therefore affirmed their open support for the governor and all other APM candidates in the upcoming polls.

The meeting was well attended by local educators from various schools in Lagelu LGA, reflecting broad consensus among the teaching community on the administration’s education sector interventions.
