The Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo Nurudeen, has commended the expansion of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) Makinde/Adekanmbi Campaign Council in Oyo State to accommodate the interests of traders and artisans.

Princess Nurudeen expressed excitement over the appointment of Oloye Benedict Akika JP, Founder of Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), as Coordinator of the Traders/Artisans Mobilisation Committee of the APM Makinde/Adekanmbi Campaign Council in Oyo State.

She congratulated Akika on the appointment, describing the inclusion of traders and artisans in the campaign council as a welcome development, given their important role in the economic and social life of the state.

The Iyaloja General noted that Akika, who serves as a patron to several traders’ and artisans’ associations, has established relationships with these groups, making his appointment an opportunity to strengthen engagement with traders and artisans across the state.

She further expressed optimism that the consideration given to traders and artisans in the campaign council represents an initial assurance that their concerns and welfare are being recognised. According to her, the development offers an opportunity for the government to demonstrate its commitment to addressing the needs of traders and artisans through meaningful engagement and practical policies.

Princess Nurudeen urged that the inclusion of the groups should translate into concrete initiatives that promote their businesses, improve their operating environment and enhance their economic well-being. She wished Oloye Benedict Akika JP success in his new assignment.
