The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has declared that the ongoing payment of wage awards to workers and pensioners in the state will be extended by another six months.
According to Westernmirror.com.ng, Makinde announced the official commissioning of a 12.5km Challenge- Odo Ona-Elewe-Elebu-Apata dualized road project under Ido Local Government, Ibadan.
The Governor lamented the present economic hardship on personal and household income occasioned by the federal government’s twin policies; removal of fuel subsidy and floating of naira/dollar exchange rate.
The Governor, however, assured that his government will continue to strive to do more to make life more meaningful for them.
While reacting to the report of PDP Governors owing worksalarieslary in their states, Makinde, who highlighted the commitment of his administration to workers’ pensioners’ners welfare stated that civil servants have continued to collect their salary on or before 25 of every month to date since 2019 uninterruptedly Â
