The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) chairmanship candidate for Oriire Local Government, Hon. Tijani Afeez Adigun Omoleader, has congratulated Hon. Sakariya Muhammad Taofeek Aolalubarka on his appointment by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, as Special Adviser on Rural Development.
Omoleader, in his congratulatory message, described the appointment as a recognition of Aolalubarka’s experience in public administration, grassroots engagement and legislative affairs.
He expressed confidence that the new Special Adviser would bring his wealth of experience and understanding of grassroots development to bear on his new responsibilities, particularly in advancing initiatives targeted at improving the wellbeing and economic opportunities of rural communities across Oyo State.
Aolalubarka: An Experienced Public Servant
Hon. Sakariya Muhammad Taofeek Aolalubarka is a seasoned public administrator and grassroots mobiliser whose career spans local government administration, executive responsibilities and legislative affairs.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in 1997/1998.
He subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Ilorin in 2009, a Master’s in Election Administration in 2013, and another Master’s Degree in Transport Management in 2020/2021.
Aolalubarka began his public service career at the local government level, where he served as Supervisor for Education, Youth Development, Information and Community Development at Ogbomoso North Local Government between 2003 and 2007.
Between 2007 and 2011, he served as Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State in the Office of the Chief of Staff.
He later proceeded to the National Assembly, where he served as Senior Legislative Assistant to the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015.
From 2015 to 2019, he served as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Grassroots Experience
Aolalubarka’s public service trajectory has given him experience across different levels and institutions of government, including local government administration, the executive arm of government and the National Assembly.
His years of engagement with grassroots communities, public administration and legislative processes have also positioned him as a figure with a broad understanding of governance and community development, particularly within the Ogbomoso axis.
Omoleader said Aolalubarka’s new role provides an opportunity for him to deploy his experience toward addressing development challenges confronting rural communities and supporting policies designed to bridge the gap between rural and urban development.
He wished the newly appointed Special Adviser a successful tenure, expressing optimism that his appointment would contribute meaningfully to the administration’s rural development agenda and the overall development of Oyo State.
