
The Supervisory Councillors of Oyo East Local Government have congratulated the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Olusola Peters Oluokun, on his emergence as the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) consensus Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.

In a congratulatory message released and made available to newsmen on Monday, the Supervisory Councillors described Oluokun’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary leadership, administrative competence, and commitment to grassroots development, expressing confidence in his ability to consolidate on the achievements recorded during his first tenure.
They commended leaders and stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement in Oyo East for the peaceful and transparent consensus process, noting that the decision reflected the unity, maturity, and shared commitment of the party to advancing good governance and sustainable development within the local government.

The councillors also appreciated the support and cooperation of party faithful, political leaders, and residents whose confidence in Oluokun’s leadership, they said, contributed significantly to his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.


They further lauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his continued commitment to democratic governance and grassroots development, describing his leadership as one that has continued to inspire progress across the state.

The Supervisory Councillors equally paid glowing tribute to Distinguished Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu for her exemplary leadership, political mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the growth and stability of the political family in Oyo Federal Constituency.
According to them, Senator Sunmonu’s wisdom, selfless service, and compassionate leadership have continued to unite party members and strengthen the foundation for sustained political success and grassroots development.
They expressed optimism that Oluokun’s candidature would further galvanise support for the party ahead of the election, while urging members and supporters to remain united, peaceful, and committed to the collective aspiration of delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo East Local Government.
The Supervisory Councillors wished Hon. Olusola Peters Oluokun a successful campaign and expressed confidence that, if elected, he would continue to provide responsive, inclusive, and people-oriented leadership that would accelerate the socio-economic development of Oyo East Local Government.
