The Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development (AYD), Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has congratulated the consensus Chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, on his emergence as the party’s flag bearer ahead of the forthcoming local government election.

Falana described Olufade’s emergence through a unanimous consensus of party leaders and stakeholders as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in his leadership, administrative competence, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen by the Head of Media Unit to the Chairman, Opeyemi Rasheed Socrates, Falana commended the leadership of the APM in Ibadan North for embracing dialogue, unity, and internal democracy in arriving at a consensus candidate, noting that the development reflects the growing cohesion within the party.

He said Olufade’s endorsement was well deserved, considering his track record of purposeful leadership and developmental strides recorded during his first tenure as Chairman of the local government.

Falana noted that the consensus decision was a clear affirmation of Olufade’s dedication to improving infrastructure, strengthening local governance, implementing people-oriented programmes, and promoting peace and harmony among political stakeholders and residents of Ibadan North.

According to him, the overwhelming support enjoyed by the council chairman underscores the confidence of party leaders and members in his ability to consolidate on the achievements already recorded and deliver more dividends of democracy across the twelve wards of the local government.
“Your emergence as the consensus candidate is a testament to your exemplary leadership, commitment to public service, and the remarkable impact of your administration on the lives of the people. I congratulate you on this well-deserved endorsement and wish you greater success in the task ahead,” Falana stated.
He expressed optimism that Olufade’s re-election bid would further accelerate sustainable development, deepen inclusive governance, and strengthen democratic participation at the grassroots.
Earlier, shortly after his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate, Hon. Olufade expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the Allied Peoples Movement for finding him worthy of another opportunity to serve.
He described the consensus endorsement as both a great honour and a renewed call to greater responsibility, assuring party leaders, members, and residents that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
“I am sincerely grateful to the leadership and members of our great party, the Allied Peoples Movement, for this overwhelming show of confidence and support. This consensus is not just an endorsement of my administration but a renewed call to serve our people with greater dedication, sincerity, and commitment,” Olufade said.
He pledged to sustain aggressive developmental initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of residents, while maintaining an inclusive style of governance that guarantees equal opportunities and adequate representation for every community across Ibadan North Local Government.
Olufade further assured that his administration would continue to prioritise projects and programmes that directly impact the welfare of the people, reaffirming his commitment to accountable leadership, transparency, and sustainable grassroots development.
