The member representing Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the ongoing road infrastructure projects across the constituency, describing them as a testament to the administration’s commitment to sustainable development and improved living standards.
In a statement made available to journalists, Olorunpoto said the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of major roads, including Apaara–Oke Apo Road, Molaba–Balogun Road, Olugbon–Mobolaje Road, Oba Adeyemi Road, Ajagba–Ogeese Road and Kosobo Road, reflect the government’s determination to expand infrastructure and promote economic growth across Oyo East and Oyo West.
According to him, the projects will improve connectivity between communities, facilitate the movement of people and goods, stimulate commercial activities and enhance access to essential social services.
The lawmaker also applauded the Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Olusola Peter Oluokun, and his Oyo West counterpart, Hon. Akeem Salaam Olukitibi, for complementing the efforts of the state government through various grassroots development initiatives.
He noted that the commitment of the two council chairmen to infrastructural development and improved service delivery has continued to positively impact residents of their respective local government areas.
Olorunpoto equally expressed appreciation to Sen. (Dr.) Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, for her enduring leadership, guidance and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Oyo Federal Constituency.
While commending the ongoing infrastructure drive, the lawmaker appealed to the Oyo State Government to expedite work on the Anwar Islam, Sanga, Aweruntu and Obananko culverts, describing the projects as critical to improving transportation, public safety and economic activities in the affected communities.
He stressed that the timely completion of the culverts would further strengthen the gains already being recorded through the state’s road rehabilitation programme.
Olorunpoto also urged the chairmen of Oyo East and Oyo West Local Governments to sustain the momentum of development across their councils, noting that although remarkable progress has been made, more work remains to bridge the infrastructure deficit resulting from years of neglect.
He expressed optimism that continued collaboration among the Oyo State Government, the two local government administrations and other stakeholders would accelerate development and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo East and Oyo West.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote sustainable development and improve the welfare of constituents across the constituency.
