The Ward Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ward 10, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr. Olajide Awoniyi, has dismissed reports suggesting that the party has adopted a consensus candidate for the councillorship position in the ward.

Awoniyi said no individual has been officially endorsed or nominated as the party’s consensus councillorship candidate for Ward 10, describing such claims as false, misleading and capable of creating unnecessary tension among party members.

According to him, the party has not reached any consensus regarding the selection of a councillorship candidate, urging members, supporters and the general public to disregard any contrary information circulating within or outside the party.

The ward chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Allied Peoples Movement to transparency, fairness and due process in its internal affairs, stressing that all decisions concerning the emergence of candidates would be made in accordance with the party’s constitution and established guidelines.

Awoniyi called on party faithful to remain calm, united and focused, assuring them that the leadership of the party would communicate officially whenever decisions are taken on the councillorship ticket for Ward 10.

He further appealed to stakeholders to avoid spreading unverified information capable of undermining the unity and integrity of the party, reiterating that there is presently no consensus councillorship candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement in Ido Ward 10.
