The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Oyo Federal Constituency (Atiba, Afijio, Oyo East and Oyo West) seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general election, Hon. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, popularly known as Seun Ashamu, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for approving the reconstruction of the 4-kilometre Idi-Igba-Akinnmoorin Road in Ilora.
Ashamu described the approval as another demonstration of Governor Makinde’s commitment to expanding critical infrastructure and promoting inclusive development across Oyo State.
He noted that the project would enhance transportation, improve access to rural communities, and stimulate socio-economic activities, particularly in agrarian areas.
The APM House of Representatives candidate stated that the approval aligns with the state government’s sustained investment in road infrastructure aimed at boosting economic growth and improving the living standards of residents.
He highlighted several road projects executed and approved under the Makinde administration, including the completion and reconstruction of the 34.85-kilometre Oyo-Iseyin Road, which has significantly improved connectivity between farming communities and major economic centres.
Ashamu also referenced the rehabilitation of the 5.25-kilometre Gedu-Oroki-Asipa Township Road, describing it as a strategic urban renewal project that has enhanced movement within the Gedu, Oroki, Sabo and Asipa communities.
According to him, the newly approved 4-kilometre Idi-Igba-Akinnmoorin Road will further unlock economic opportunities in Ilora and adjoining communities by easing transportation challenges and encouraging commercial and agricultural activities.
He equally lauded the state and local governments for ongoing and completed road projects across the Oyo Federal Constituency, including the Balogun–Alalubosa Junction corridor, the Apaara–Ile Bara–Oke Apo Road, and the Ladindin–Ojongbodu–Iseke–Anwar-ul-Islam Road, noting that the projects have improved accessibility and accelerated development in the benefiting communities.
Ashamu urged residents to continue supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development, stressing that quality infrastructure remains a key driver of economic prosperity and improved quality of life.
