Residents of Ojongbodu and adjoining communities in Oyo Township have applauded the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the successful completion of the Phase One reconstruction of the Ladindin–Iseke–Ojongbodu–Jagun–Olokomeje Road, describing the project as a landmark infrastructural intervention that has transformed the area.

The commendation was contained in a letter of appreciation jointly signed by the Olodu of Ojongbodu, Oba Olaniyi Adeoye Adegboye III, and residents of the community, a copy of which was made available to Heritage Echo News on Saturday.

The traditional ruler described the newly reconstructed road as one of the most significant developmental projects witnessed by the community in decades, noting that it has improved transportation, enhanced the aesthetic outlook of the area, and boosted socio-economic activities.

According to the monarch, the road serves as a major access route linking Ladindin, Iseke, Ojongbodu, Jagun and Olokomeje communities, making movement easier for residents, commuters and businesses.

“We sincerely appreciate Governor Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct our major access road. The project has not only improved mobility but has also given our community a new outlook,” the monarch stated.

Oba Adegboye recalled that the road was last tarred during his childhood when his father was the Baale of Ojongbodu, adding that the latest reconstruction represents the most comprehensive rehabilitation the road has witnessed in many years.

He also expressed appreciation to Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, the executive Chairman of Oyo West local government, Hon. Akeem Babatunde Salami (Olukitibi) and other stakeholders for their support in facilitating the project.
The monarch equally commended the contractor, Quickborn Nigeria Limited, for delivering what he described as a quality road project executed with professionalism and in line with modern engineering standards.

Speaking on behalf of residents, Mr. Busari Ismail Bolanle of Ladindin-Ekewa Compound said the reconstruction has brought renewed hope to the community, noting that the road had remained in deplorable condition for several decades.
According to him, the project has improved access to the area, stimulated commercial activities and eased transportation challenges for residents.
He praised Governor Makinde and the project contractor for delivering what he described as a durable and high-quality road infrastructure.
Similarly, Mr. Sulaimon Shittu of Ayekisorun Compound, Apena, Iseke, described Governor Makinde as a leader who keeps his promises, expressing gratitude to Senator Sunmonu and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring the project’s completion.

He noted that the improved road network has increased economic activities within the communities, boosted local businesses and enhanced the movement of people and goods.
Also speaking, Mr. Bolanle Mojeed Agbaje of Ile Baale, Ojongbodu, commended Governor Makinde, Hon. Akeem Salami, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and the Council Chief of Staff for responding to the long-standing appeal of residents.
He described the road as the best infrastructure project ever executed in the area by any administration, adding that the contractor maintained high construction standards, including quality drainage systems, culverts and asphalt finishing.

The residents unanimously described the project as a major milestone in the development of Ojongbodu and neighbouring communities, expressing optimism that the remaining phases of the road would receive similar attention from the state government.
