Community leaders and residents of Alake, Kajola-Irede, Odinjo, and Alake-Odo Osun, Academy area of Ibadan, have joined in celebrating the second anniversary of the successful completion of the Kajola–Irede Academy Road asphalt project, a landmark infrastructural intervention facilitated by Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin).

On May 31, 2024, asphalt laying commenced on the road, and within an impressive six days, by June 5, 2024, the project was completed and opened for public use.

Two years later, the road continues to stand as a shining testament to purposeful leadership, responsive representation, and a genuine commitment to grassroots development.

The impact of the project has been far-reaching. Residents now enjoy smoother transportation, improved connectivity, easier access to commercial activities, and enhanced socio-economic opportunities. What was once a major infrastructural challenge has been transformed into a vital corridor of progress serving thousands of residents across the benefiting communities.

One of the community leaders who spoke on the development, Chief Adebayo Akinwale, expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Agboworin for his unwavering dedication to the welfare and development of his constituents.

According to him, “Before this road was constructed, movement within our communities was difficult, especially during the rainy season. Today, residents, traders, and commuters enjoy easy access, and economic activities have improved significantly. Hon. Agboworin’s intervention has brought lasting relief and development to our people.”

Also speaking, Alhaji Suleiman Olatunji, a community leader from Alake-Odo Osun, described the road project as a fulfilled promise and a clear demonstration of the lawmaker’s commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy.

“Two years after completion, the quality and impact of this road remain evident for everyone to see. The project has enhanced connectivity among our communities and demonstrated what responsive representation should look like. We are proud of this achievement and grateful for the leadership that made it possible,” he said.

The community leaders noted that the Kajola–Irede Academy Road is more than an asphalted road; it is a symbol of hope, development, and effective leadership. They stressed that the project has significantly improved the daily lives of residents while opening new opportunities for growth and economic advancement.

Sharing her experience as a beneficiary of the project, Mrs. Funmilayo Adeoye, a resident and business owner in Odinjo, said the road has positively transformed commercial activities within the area.

“This road has changed our daily lives. Transportation is now faster, customers can easily reach our shops, and vehicle maintenance costs have reduced. We appreciate Hon. Agboworin for remembering our communities and delivering a project that continues to benefit us every day,” she stated.

The leaders further commended Hon. Agboworin’s consistent track record of impactful constituency projects, noting that his representation has been defined by visible achievements rather than mere promises.

They emphasized that the successful delivery of the Kajola–Irede Academy Road remains one of the enduring legacies of his people-centered leadership.

As the communities commemorate this significant milestone, they reaffirmed their gratitude and continued support for a leader whose dedication to service continues to leave lasting footprints across the Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency.
