A coalition of youth groups in Oyo State, the South-West, and across Nigeria, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has declared its support for the presidential ambition of Engr. Seyi Makinde, ahead of the 2027 general elections, is describing his leadership style as a model capable of repositioning the country.

The endorsement was made through a joint statement issued by prominent youth and socio-cultural organizations under the aegis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Oyo State chapter, alongside other affiliated groups, having witnessed the sustainable legacy of Governor Makinde through the State Agency for Youth Development.

The coalition includes the Progressive Tradesman and Artisan Association of Nigeria, Association of Registered Social Youth Clubs/Forum (ARSOYOC), Coalition of Yoruba Movement (COYYM), Oke-Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum, Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), National Council for Isese Youth Organization, Association of Entertainment Stakeholders of Oyo State, Yoruba Youth Council (Oyo State), and the Federation of Boys’ and Girls Clubs, Oyo State.

According to the groups, Governor Makinde has demonstrated exceptional leadership, administrative competence, and people-oriented governance in Oyo State, qualities they said distinguish him as a credible leader capable of steering Nigeria toward sustainable development.

They noted that Makinde’s achievements in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, healthcare delivery, and economic reforms in Oyo State have continued to garner national attention, positioning him as a strong contender for the nation’s highest office.

“Oyo State Agency for Youth Development’s unmatched legacy in promoting, mentorship, transforming the youth constituency remains one of the best blueprints for sustainable achievement of His Excellency” the group stated.

The youth bodies maintained that Nigeria is in urgent need of purposeful leadership that prioritizes national unity, economic growth, and improved welfare for citizens, stressing that Makinde possesses the vision and capacity required to deliver such transformation.

They further urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to rally behind leaders with proven records of performance and integrity, adding that the 2027 election presents an opportunity to redefine the country’s future.

“The time has come for Nigeria to be repositioned on the path of progress, prosperity, and good governance. Governor Seyi Makinde has shown that effective leadership is possible, and we believe he has what it takes to lead Nigeria to greater heights,” the statement read.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing support across regions for Makinde’s potential presidential bid, expressing confidence that his leadership would usher in a new era of national development.
