The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly and member representing Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, has felicitated with Nigerians on the celebration of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, describing the occasion as a reminder of the resilience, sacrifices, and collective spirit that birthed Nigeria’s freedom.

In his goodwill message, Hon. Oyekola emphasized that October 1st remains a day of deep national significance, urging citizens to see the anniversary not only as a celebration but also as a call to action in safeguarding Nigeria’s unity and democratic values.

He stated: “Independence Day is a time for us to reflect on how far we have come as a nation, appreciate the sacrifices of our heroes past, and renew our commitment to building a better future.

Despite the challenges we face, I strongly believe that our unity, diversity, and determination will continue to be our greatest strengths.”

Hon. Oyekola commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s transformational leadership in Oyo State, noting that his visionary governance has continued to bring development and renewed confidence to the people of the state.

The Atiba lawmaker assured his constituents of his unflinching dedication to effective representation, people-oriented legislation, and policies that will enhance grassroots development and improve the quality of life of the people.

He added: “Nigeria is blessed with immense opportunities.

What we need is a shared resolve to harness these opportunities for the good of all.

Let us remain hopeful, peaceful, and patriotic, for our tomorrow holds great promise.”

Hon. Oyekola prayed for peace, stability, and progress in Nigeria while calling on every citizen to be agents of positive change within their communities.

“Happy Independence Day to the people of Atiba Constituency, Oyo State, and Nigerians everywhere. Together, we can make our nation greater,” he concluded.
