Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Senator Monsurat Sunmonu on her inauguration into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Elective National Convention Zoning Committee.
In a statement released, personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday, Hon. Poto described Senator Sunmonu as “a seasoned negotiator, an experienced administrator, and a true team player,” noting that her inclusion in the committee is a strategic move that reflects both competence and credibility.
“Senator Monsurat Sunmonu continues to be a source of pride and inspiration to many of us,” Hon. Cephas said.
According to him, “Her track record in public service and party leadership speaks volumes, and her latest appointment is a testament to her unwavering commitment to strengthening the PDP.”
He further praised the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, GSSRS, for what he termed a visionary and unifying nomination, stated that it will further solidify the internal cohesion and electoral readiness of the PDP ahead of future national engagements.
“This is not just a win for Oyo State but for the party nationwide. Senator Sunmonu brings to the table a wealth of experience and the kind of inclusive leadership the PDP needs at this pivotal moment,” he added.
The PDP Zoning Committee plays a critical role in determining the distribution of key elective positions ahead of the party’s national convention — a process central to maintaining fairness, balance, and regional representation within the party structure.
Hon. Cephas concluded by reaffirming his confidence in Senator Sunmonu’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the zoning process and champion decisions that reflect equity, justice, and the unity of the party.
