Another devastating fire has razed a residential building in the Oyo township axis of Pacesetter State, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday, 2nd August, 2025 at No. 8, Zone 3 Gbenga Oyekola Scheme, Boro-Boro Area, Oyo township, Oyo State.

No casualty was recorded, only one room was slightly affected by fire, and Officers of the Agency were able to save properties worth millions of naira.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident in our correspondence.



He said; The fire incident was reported at exactly 19:30hrs on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, through a telephone call to Miss Omolara Moruf about a house on fire at the above address.

“The Agency’s Officers, led by CFS Tijani Bamidele, promptly deployed to the incident scene. On arrival, we met one room of a four (4) bedroom flat on fire.

However, the fireman swiftly swung into action and the fire was curtailed and restricted from spreading beyond where it was met.
It was discovered that the fire incident resulted from an electrical surge when the power supply was restored, igniting a combustible material.
No casualty was recorded, only one room was slightly affected by fire, and Officers of the Agency were able to save properties worth millions of naira.

In furtherance, residents applauded the executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the provision of state-of-the-art equipment to the firefighters, thereby giving them prompt responses to fire incidents in Pacesetter as well as enhancing their professionalism.
Additionally, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Reform/Agency Chairman Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, urged the public to be conscious of fire every time and to understand the need to have fire extinguishers in their respective buildings to prevent fire at the incipient stage.
