As Nigerians across the nation mark Democracy Day, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, a respected chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens in celebration of the country’s democratic journey.

Otunba Opatoki described June 12 as a day of deep reflection, national pride, and hope for a greater Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of sustaining the ideals of democracy, including freedom, justice, accountability, and good governance.

In his message, he lauded the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that the Makinde administration remains a shining example of what democratic governance should look like. “Governor Makinde’s people-oriented policies, transparency, and inclusive governance have shown us that democracy can truly work for the people,” Opatoki said.

He further called on all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation, to protect and nurture the nation’s democracy. “We must continue to uphold the rule of law, respect our institutions, and remain committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria,” he added.

Otunba Opatoki then prayed for continued democratic rule in Nigeria, asking for divine wisdom for the nation’s leaders and enduring peace across the land.

“May our democracy never falter, and may Nigeria continue to rise as a beacon of hope in Africa,” he prayed.
