The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service Agency, Hon. Akinwande, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, following the demise of his brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
Engineer Sunday Makinde, who was 65 years old, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. Hon. Moroof Akinwande, in a statement released and made available to newsmen, expressed his deepest sympathies to Governor Makinde and his family, praying to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Akinwande, the former lawmaker and federal Board Chairman, as well as former State Water Corporation Chairman, described the late brother of the governor as a great personality who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

In a condolence message, Hon. Akinwande said;

“I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your beloved brother, late Engineer Sunday Makinde, my heart goes out to you, your family, and the entire government of Oyo State during this difficult time.”
Hon. Akinwande praised Governor Makinde’s strength and resilience in the face of adversity, saying that the governor’s leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people of Oyo State have been a source of inspiration to many.
“Your Excellency, I want to assure you that the Oyo State Fire Service Agency is solidly behind you and your family during this trying period.”
“We pray that God will grant you the fortitude to bear this loss and continue to lead our great state to greater heights.” He concluded.
