…Oyo APC Pays Thank-You Visit to Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Hails His Tinubu, Alli Mobilisation Effort

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, led by its Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Pa. Moses Adeyemo Alake, on Thursday paid an appreciation visit to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, in recognition of his support, generosity and commitment to the successful mobilisation for the inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB), held in Ibadan on Monday.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the state party leadership and representatives of the TTB organising committee to formally appreciate Chief Sanusi for his contribution to mobilising supporters and stakeholders in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, the APC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the Oyo State Matron of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, Ambassador Florence Ajimobi, the Oyo State APC Women Leader, Dr. Felicia Opatunde, and members of the organising committee lauded Chief Sanusi for his significant contribution to the mobilisation that culminated in the successful inauguration of the group.

They acknowledged his commitment to the political advancement of the APC in Oyo State and across the Southwest, describing his support as a major boost to the party’s efforts to secure victory for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The committee further commended Chief Sanusi’s ability to mobilise grassroots stakeholders and political groups, noting that his support contributed significantly to the impressive turnout recorded at the historic inauguration.

Speaking during the visit, Pa. Moses Adeyemo Alake praised Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi for his contributions to the growth and development of the APC, particularly in Oyo State and across the Southwest.

The APC chairman described Sanusi as an important stakeholder whose commitment to grassroots mobilisation and political development deserved recognition.

He added that the visit was a demonstration of the party leadership’s appreciation for the continued support and contributions of the Okanlomo Oodua to the party’s political activities.

Responding, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi thanked the APC leadership for the visit and congratulated the Oyo State chapter on the successful inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers.

He described the event as historic, saying the level of mobilisation witnessed demonstrated the capacity, preparedness and organisational strength of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chief Sanusi expressed optimism that the momentum generated by the inauguration would translate into electoral success for the party, particularly in the bid to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reclaim Oyo State for the APC through the candidature of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.

The Okanlomo Oodua said he was particularly pleased with the decision of the state party leadership to visit and formally appreciate him, describing the gesture as important to strengthening relationships among party leaders, political stakeholders and grassroots mobilisation groups.

He, however, stressed that the party’s political aspirations could only be achieved through unity, love, mutual respect, tolerance and reconciliation.

Chief Sanusi therefore appealed to Pa. Moses Alake and other APC leaders to reach out to members who may feel aggrieved and make deliberate efforts to reconcile all sides ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged all tendencies within the party to put aside personal differences and prioritise the collective interest of the APC.

“Let’s not destroy the family with disunity,” Chief Sanusi cautioned.

He further urged the party to sustain the unity and grassroots structure demonstrated during the Tinubu Torch Bearers inauguration, stressing that the various grassroots groups and political stakeholders must continue to work together to achieve the party’s objectives.

According to him, love, tolerance, inclusiveness and cooperation remain essential to building a formidable political structure capable of delivering electoral victory.

He also encouraged the party leadership to embrace dialogue and reconciliation, noting that no personal disagreement should be allowed to undermine the collective political aspirations of the APC.

In his vote of thanks, the Oyo State APC Secretary, Barrister Fatai Adesina, expressed appreciation to Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi for his generosity, support and valuable advice to the leadership of the party.

Barrister Adesina assured the Okanlomo Oodua that the party would carefully consider his counsel and continue to work with relevant stakeholders towards strengthening the APC and achieving its political objectives.

He added that the party remained grateful for Chief Sanusi’s contributions and would continue to recognise the efforts of individuals and grassroots stakeholders committed to the growth and success of the APC in Oyo State.

Other members of the delegation included the State Deputy Chairman, Dr. Taofeek Lamidi; Senatorial Chairman (North), Hon. Tunde Oloyede; Senatorial Chairman (South), Hon. Adebayo Delesolu; Treasurer, Alhaji Lateef Ajiboye; Assistant Secretary, Hon. Owonikoko Lukman; Deputy Women Leader, Fatima Titilayo Hassan; Deputy Youth Leader, Comrade Sayo Fatoki, among other party executives and stakeholders.

The visit further underscored the growing emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, stakeholder engagement and internal reconciliation as the Oyo State APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
