The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bimbo Adekanmbi, has thrown his weight behind Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) with a fresh financial commitment of ₦2.7 million to support the Ibadan-based club and its continental ambitions.

Adekanmbi announced the support following Shooting Stars’ 2-1 victory over Inter Lagos on Friday, pledging ₦200,000 for every goal scored by the Oluyole Warriors during the encounter.

The two goals recorded by 3SC earned the players a total of ₦400,000 under the incentive, with the gesture designed to motivate the team to continue producing positive results.

Beyond the goal-scoring incentive, Adekanmbi committed another ₦500,000 towards the purchase of 1,000 match tickets for fans to attend Shooting Stars’ home fixtures.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the relationship between the club and its supporters while encouraging greater fan attendance and creating a more vibrant atmosphere at home matches.

The major component of Adekanmbi’s latest intervention is a ₦2 million donation towards Shooting Stars’ participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The financial support comes as the club prepares to represent Nigeria on the continental stage, with Adekanmbi expressing optimism that the team can build on the progress recorded under the current administration and make a strong impact in the competition.
He also expressed confidence in the leadership of Shooting Stars, describing the club as being in safe hands and urging the management to sustain its developmental strides.
Adekanmbi said he hoped the present administration would consolidate its achievements and take the historic Ibadan club to greater heights, both domestically and on the continent.
The latest gesture further underscores Adekanmbi’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of Shooting Stars while encouraging the players, management and supporters to remain united in their pursuit of success.
