The 50th birthday celebration of Hon. Joel Adedapo Adeniran was marked by a blend of thanksgiving, housewarming, community service, and generous donations as family members, religious leaders, political associates, community leaders, and well-wishers gathered at the Divine Touch Baptist Church, Sooro Hill, Saabo, Oyo.

The celebration, which brought together people from different walks of life, was characterised by prayers, testimonies, the presentation of gifts, ts and reflections on the celebrant’s life, service,ce and contribution to his community and humanity.

A major highlight of the occasion was a sermon and birthday citation delivered by Rev. Dr. Bisi Ajasa, who described Adedapo as a man whose life should be guided by purpose, service to God and commitment to the welfare of others.

Speaking on the theme, “You Are Born for Us, for a Purpose and for Others,” Rev. Ajasa drew inspiration from the biblical account of the birth of Christ, emphasising the importance of living a life that positively impacts others.

He congratulated Adedapo on attaining the milestone age of 50, noting that reaching the golden age was not merely a personal achievement but an opportunity to reflect on the relationships, responsibilities and destiny connections accumulated over the years.

According to him, a person’s existence should not be measured solely by personal accomplishments but by the positive difference made in the lives of others.

He urged the celebrant to recognise that his gifts, opportunities and influence were entrusted to him for constructive purposes and should be deployed for the benefit of the wider society.
“Every gift God gives us is not meant for personal use alone. They are given so that others can benefit from them. Your opportunities should become opportunities for others to grow and prosper,” he stated.

Rev. Ajasa further charged Adedapo to remain a source of joy, assistance, and liberation to those around him, stressing that true greatness comes through selfless service and meaningful impact.
He also admonished the celebrant to approach leadership and politics with wisdom, integrity and a genuine desire to represent the interests of the people, particularly the vulnerable and voiceless.

“Politics should be about speaking for the voiceless and helping people attain greatness. You must use wisdom rather than power and ensure that your influence is always deployed for the common good,” he said.
The cleric also recalled an incident which, according to him, demonstrated the celebrant’s courage and alertness in responding to a security situation within his community, using the experience to illustrate the need for responsible leadership and concern for others.

He thereafter offered special prayers for Adedapo, his wife and family, asking God to preserve their lives, strengthen them and enable them to fulfil their divine destinies.
