In a renewed effort to strengthen institutional collaboration and expand opportunities for young people across Oyo State, the 32 Honourable Members of the Oyo State Youth Parliament, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oyekola Marvellous Oluwatobi, paid a courtesy visit to the Sole Administrator/Chairman of PaceSetter Transport Services (PTS), Hon. (Dr.) Ibraheem Oladeji Salami (Dikko Salami).
The visit formed part of the Parliament’s ongoing engagement with key government institutions and stakeholders aimed at fostering strategic partnerships capable of advancing youth development, promoting civic participation, and supporting the implementation of impactful programmes for the benefit of young people in the state.
During the meeting, the parliamentary delegation formally sought the support and collaboration of PaceSetter Transport Services towards the activities and developmental initiatives of the Oyo State Youth Parliament. Discussions focused on establishing a mutually beneficial partnership that would create more opportunities for youths while complementing the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in promoting youth inclusion, leadership development, and sustainable socio-economic growth across Oyo State.
Receiving the delegation, Hon. (Dr.) Dikko Salami commended the leadership and members of the Oyo State Youth Parliament for their commitment to responsible leadership and their dedication to championing the interests of young people. He described the Parliament as a vital platform for nurturing future leaders and encouraging active youth participation in governance.
The PTS Chairman pledged his unwavering support for the Parliament, assuring members of his readiness to collaborate with the institution in achieving its objectives. He emphasized the importance of sustained partnerships between government agencies and youth-focused institutions in building a more prosperous and inclusive Oyo State.
As a demonstration of his commitment, Hon. (Dr.) Dikko Salami presented a cash donation to the Parliament and reaffirmed his resolve to provide continuous institutional support and encouragement to enable the legislative body to effectively discharge its mandate of youth representation, advocacy, and leadership development.
Responding on behalf of the House, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oyekola Marvellous Oluwatobi, expressed profound appreciation to the PTS Chairman for the warm reception, generous financial support, and his commitment to partnering with the Oyo State Youth Parliament.
He described the gesture as a significant vote of confidence in the Parliament’s vision and mission, noting that the support would further motivate members to remain steadfast in delivering effective representation, promoting youth-focused legislation, and initiating programmes that would positively impact young people across the state.
The Speaker reaffirmed the Parliament’s commitment to building stronger relationships with government institutions, corporate organisations, development partners, and other stakeholders whose support aligns with its mandate of advancing youth empowerment, good governance, and sustainable development in Oyo State.
The Oyo State Youth Parliament reiterated its resolve to continue championing policies and initiatives that will enhance the welfare, capacity, and participation of young people while contributing meaningfully to the overall development of the Pacesetter State.
