The Muslim Congress (TMC), Oyo State Chapter, has honoured the Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency in the forthcoming House of Representatives election, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, with a Special Recognition Award.
The Award was in appreciation of his contributions to community development, humanitarian service and support for faith-based initiatives.
The honour was conferred on Sunday during the TMC Oyo State Patron Investiture held in Ibadan, where Islamic scholars, community leaders, professionals and members of the organisation gathered to celebrate distinguished personalities who have demonstrated commitment to societal development and the promotion of Islamic values.
Speaking at the event, the leadership of The Muslim Congress described Olatunji as a visionary leader whose record of public service and people-oriented initiatives has continued to impact lives across Oluyole Local Government and beyond.
The organisation noted that the recognition was a testament to his relentless support for grassroots community development, youth empowerment and religious harmony.
The event, themed “Demystifying The Muslim Congress Core Values: Identifying the Needs of Patron Support,” also featured the investiture of patrons and discussions on strengthening collaboration between faith-based organisations and public-spirited individuals to promote sustainable development and social responsibility.
The organisers explained that the programme was designed to deepen public understanding of the core values of The Muslim Congress while encouraging greater support from patrons and stakeholders in advancing the organisation’s humanitarian, educational and spiritual objectives.
In his response, Olatunji expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of The Muslim Congress for finding him worthy of the honour.
He dedicated the award to the people of Oluyole, describing it as an encouragement to remain steadfast in serving humanity irrespective of religious or political affiliations.
He reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence, youth development, education and improved welfare.
He added that sustainable community development can only be achieved through collective responsibility and partnerships among government, religious organisations and the people.
