The JDS Market Men and Women Association in Oyo State has intensified its mobilisation campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a campaign visit to Bodija International Market in Ibadan.
‎
‎The campaign, organised under the JDS/PBAT Market-to-Market initiative, was led by the Iyaloja General, Alhaja Sarata Konibaje, as part of efforts to engage traders and market stakeholders across the state.
‎
‎The initiative is designed to take the campaign directly to market men and women, encouraging their participation in political activities ahead of the next general elections.
‎
‎The association said its mobilisation drive would cover 11 local government areas in Ibadan, Oyo State.
‎
‎The JDSPA 86′ representative was also present at the campaign, led by the group’s coordinator, Engr. Mumeen Alabi. Other members in attendance included Dayo Okunola, the association’s Social Secretary, and Mr Wasiu Lawal.
‎
‎Speaking on the initiative, the association’s representatives emphasised the importance of reaching traders at their places of business and engaging them directly on the group’s political mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
‎
‎“The JDS Market Men and Women Association is taking its mobilisation campaign to markets across the 11 local government areas in Ibadan, with the aim of engaging traders and encouraging support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections,” the group stated.
‎
‎The association also highlighted the role of market leaders and members in coordinating the campaign, noting that the participation of stakeholders was central to its efforts to extend the message to traders across the state.
‎
‎The campaign at Bodija International Market forms part of the association’s broader market-to-market mobilisation programme in support of Tinubu and APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
