Former Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, Hon. Busoye Soladoye Ogunlade, has formally announced his decision to step down from his House of Representatives ambition.
Ogunlade, who secured the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently to vie as the representative of Oyo Federal Constituency, said his loyalty rather lies with Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement personally signed on Wednesday, Hon. Ogunlade said the decision was made after wide consultations and in alignment with the strategic direction of Oyo State’s leadership under Seyi Makinde.

He emphasized that political ambition must never supersede party cohesion, stability, and the collective progress of the state.

Ogunlade stated that his loyalty to Governor Makinde remains unwavering and total, adding that he is fully prepared to work for, support, and deliver the candidate Governor Makinde endorses for the constituency.

“My commitment to the progress of Oyo State and the success of our great party remains absolute. His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, has my complete loyalty, and I stand ready to support whomever he puts forward for the House of Representatives ticket. Our unity is more important than any personal aspiration,” Ogunlade said.
He further expressed gratitude to party leaders, supporters, and stakeholders who believed in his capacity, assuring them that stepping down is a strategic sacrifice for the greater good of the Allied People’s Movement and the sustained development of the state.
The former OYSROMA Chairman reiterated his readiness to continue contributing to the success of the APM and the actualization of Governor Makinde’s developmental blueprint for Oyo State.
