As Muslims in Oyo State, Nigeria, and across the world mark the 2026 Eid-el-Adha festival, the Allied Peoples’ Movement candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, urging renewed dedication to the values of faith, sacrifice, and communal unity.

In his Sallah message released on Wednesday, Engr. Kolawole Adedeji described Eid-el-Adha as a profound spiritual occasion that commemorates the obedience and submission of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to the will of Almighty Allah. He noted that the festival offers Nigerians a timely opportunity to reflect on the virtues of selflessness, perseverance, and trust in God, especially in the face of present socio-economic and security challenges.

“Eid-el-Adha is more than a celebration; it is a call to action. It reminds us that true progress is achieved through sacrifice, discipline, and collective responsibility. As we slaughter and share, let us also slaughter selfishness, hatred, and division in our hearts and in our communities,” KSA stated.

The APM candidate emphasized that the lessons of the festival should inspire Nigerians to uphold compassion, justice, and service to humanity. He urged Muslims and all citizens to use the period to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, reach out to the less privileged, and pray for lasting peace, security, and economic recovery in Nigeria.

Engr. Kolawole Adedeji further called on political leaders, traditional institutions, and civil society to prioritize the welfare of the people above partisan interests. According to him, governance must be rooted in sincerity, accountability, and the fear of God to restore public trust and drive sustainable development.

“As we celebrate, let us remember that leadership is a trust from Allah. Those of us in public life must be guided by the spirit of Eid-el-Adha to serve with humility, fairness, and dedication. The people deserve leaders who are willing to sacrifice personal comfort for the common good,” he added.

He also appealed to residents of Ido and Ibarapa East Federal Constituency to remain united, vigilant, and prayerful during the festive period. He stressed that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity, and therefore called for continuous cooperation between citizens and security agencies to safeguard lives and property.

The engineer-turned-politician reaffirmed his commitment to providing people-oriented representation that prioritizes education, youth empowerment, agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure if elected to represent Ido/Ibarapa East in the National Assembly. He noted that his vision aligns with the spirit of Eid-el-Adha, which emphasizes lifting others and building a society where no one is left behind.

“On this blessed day, I recommit myself to the service of our people. My aspiration is driven by the desire to see every family in Ido/Ibarapa East live with dignity, security, and opportunity. May Allah grant us the wisdom and strength to achieve this collective goal,” KSA said.

Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji concluded by praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices, prayers, and good deeds of all Muslims during this season, and that the blessings of Eid-el-Adha bring renewed hope, healing, and prosperity to every home in Oyo State and Nigeria
