Oyo to Witness Economic Boom with Moniya Inland Dry Port —GSM Advocates

The Moniya Inland Dry Port project, following the handover of 90 hectares of land by the Oyo State Government, is expected to accelerate economic growth, strengthen agricultural value chains, drive industrialisation, and enhance infrastructure development, effectively doubling opportunities for progress in the region.

Truly, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed optimism that the Moniya Inland Dry Port would be a game changer for Oyo State, enhancing economic growth and development. The project is expected to generate direct and indirect jobs, stimulate industrial growth, increase internally generated revenue, and boost rural and urban development.

A milestone was achieved on October 31st, 2025, when the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, representing Governor Seyi Makinde, formally handed over 90 hectares of land for the Moniya Inland Dry Port project, positioning Oyo State for exponential growth in economy, agriculture, industry, and infrastructure.

With the Oyo State Government handing over the land for the Moniya Inland Dry Port project, the development is poised to alleviate congestion at Lagos ports, streamline goods clearance, and have a positive ripple effect on the nation’s economy. This strategic development will enhance Nigeria’s logistics infrastructure, foster regional competitiveness, and unlock economic value for Oyo State

The project’s goals align perfectly with Oyo State’s development needs, promising to stimulate economic growth, agricultenhance ural productivity, industrifoster al development, and infrastrimprove infrastructurel also create jobs, boost revenue, enhance logistics, and ease pressure on Lagos ports.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s economic blueprint is yielding tangible results, with strategic initiatives like the completion of the circular road, airport upgrade, and infrastructure development paving the way for growth. The Moniya Inland Dry Port project along with the input of Federal Government on the dry port is a game changer, poised to create jobs, drive industrialization, and boost agricultural productivity, cementing the governor’s commitment to economic development in Oyo State.
