The Vice-Chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State have felicitated with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo, popularly known as “Ijaya,” on the occasion of his birthday.
In a joint congratulatory message, the Oyo State Local Government Vice-Chairmen described Ojo as a dedicated public servant, grassroots-oriented administrator and dependable stakeholder whose contributions to local government development have continued to receive commendation.
The Vice-Chairmen said the Commissioner’s understanding of grassroots administration and his consistent engagement with local government stakeholders have strengthened the bond between the state government and the people at the grassroots.
They noted that Ojo’s experience, accessibility and commitment to duty have contributed significantly to the effective coordination of local government affairs, particularly at a time when responsive and people-centred governance remains essential to sustainable development.
According to them, the Commissioner has demonstrated that leadership is most effective when it is anchored on a clear understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people, especially those at the grassroots.
They commended his efforts in promoting cooperation and effective working relationships among the state government, local government administrations and other critical stakeholders, describing such collaboration as vital to achieving meaningful development across the 33 Local Government Areas.
The Vice-Chairmen further acknowledged Ojo’s commitment to the ideals of good governance, noting that his approach to public service reflects a strong passion for grassroots development and the welfare of the people.
