…call on voters to prioritize their future, vote APM from top to bottom

The Vice-Chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State have declared their support for the presidential ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde, pledging to mobilise support for him across the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Vice-Chairmen, in a show of solidarity with the Governor, expressed confidence in his leadership capacity, administrative experience and understanding of the aspirations of Nigerians, particularly the people at the grassroots.

They said their support for Makinde was driven by what they described as his commitment to development, effective governance and policies that have continued to place the interests of the people at the centre of government.

According to them, the 2027 election provides an opportunity for Nigerians to make a decisive choice on the direction of the country, stressing that the Governor’s record in Oyo State has positioned him as a credible candidate capable of providing purposeful leadership at the national level.

The Vice-Chairmen said they would take the campaign for Makinde beyond political meetings and urban centres by engaging communities, traditional institutions, youth groups, women, artisans, farmers and other grassroots stakeholders across the state.
They pledged to use their respective local government structures and networks to sensitise residents on the Governor’s presidential aspiration and encourage eligible voters to participate actively in the electoral process.
The group maintained that genuine political strength is ultimately measured by a candidate’s connection with ordinary citizens, noting that Makinde’s years of public service have enabled him to build relationships across different communities and social groups.
They further called on supporters of the Governor and members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to remain united, peaceful and focused as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Vice-Chairmen also urged the people of Oyo State to carefully assess the credentials, leadership record and policy direction of all presidential candidates before making their choice at the polls.
They emphasised that their commitment to Makinde would be pursued through lawful democratic engagement, grassroots mobilisation and voter education, expressing optimism that the Governor’s message would resonate strongly with citizens across Oyo State and beyond.
“We believe that the grassroots must be at the centre of the 2027 political conversation. We will continue to engage our people, listen to their concerns and present the vision and leadership qualities we believe Governor Seyi Makinde represents,” they said.
The Vice-Chairmen therefore called on eligible voters across the 33 Local Government Areas to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, remain actively involved in the democratic process, and exercise their constitutional right to vote during the election.
They expressed confidence that with sustained grassroots engagement and collective mobilisation, support for Makinde would continue to grow across Oyo State as the 2027 elections approach.
