The member representing Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has expressed deep sympathy with traders and other victims of the devastating fire outbreak that ravaged parts of the popular Oranyan Livestock Market in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Agboworin, in a condolence message, which was made available to journalists by his Media Group, described the incident as unfortunate and heartbreaking, particularly given the reported destruction of more than 100 shops and the loss of goods worth millions of naira.

He sympathised with the affected traders, especially those in the gold trading section of the market, whose businesses and means of livelihood have reportedly been severely impacted by the inferno.

The lawmaker also urged security agencies to take immediate steps to protect the property of victims and prevent further losses.

He called on the relevant authorities, including the Oyo State Fire Service, security agencies and the police, to intensify efforts to contain the situation, secure the market and provide the necessary support to affected traders.

Agboworin urged the traders not to lose hope, assuring them that the incident, though devastating, should not mark the end of their businesses and livelihoods.
