A new residential development initiative is set to take shape in Oyo Alaafin following the allocation of a proposed standard residential plots estate to TESKAD Survey and Mapping Consultants in partnership with the Oyo State Housing Corporation.

The development is expected to mark another significant step towards expanding planned residential infrastructure and promoting orderly urban growth in the historic city of Oyo.

The proposed TESKAD Estate, located at Bode Thomas, FGGC area, Oyo, is expected to be officially flagged off on October 31, 2026. The project is designed to provide indigenes and residents of Oyo with access to standard residential plots within a properly planned and serviced estate.

According to the project plan, the first phase of the estate will comprise six blocks, with provisions for standard residential plots, accessible road links, an internal road network, adequate drainage systems, perimeter fencing, electricity infrastructure, green areas and other public-use spaces.

The estate will also incorporate properly planned spaces to accommodate future development, with the overall objective of creating an organized, accessible and sustainable residential environment.

The development was disclosed by one of the Directors of TESKAD Survey and Mapping Consultants, Alhaji Salawudeen Dauda Oyebola, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TESKAD Survey and Mapping Consultants and the Oyo State Housing Corporation.

Speaking on the initiative, another Director of the company, Surveyor Tesleem Adebayo Adekunle, called on the people of Oyo Alaafin to look forward to the opportunities and socio-economic benefits that the development is expected to generate.
He noted that the project represents an important intervention in planned residential development and could contribute to improving the standard of land use and housing infrastructure in the area.
Beyond the provision of residential plots, the TESKAD Estate is expected to contribute to the orderly expansion of Oyo town by promoting proper physical planning, improved access, effective land utilisation and the development of a more coordinated residential environment.
For a city renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage and strategic importance, stakeholders believe that developments of this nature could help position Oyo Alaafin for sustainable urban growth while creating new opportunities for residents and prospective property owners.
The partnership between TESKAD Survey and Mapping Consultants and the Oyo State Housing Corporation is therefore being seen as a significant development in the drive to promote planned housing and responsible land development in Oyo.
The project is expected to provide a new opportunity for Oyo indigenes and residents seeking to acquire property in a structured and professionally planned environment.
