
The Member representing Ibadan North Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel (Jagaban), has commissioned six motorised boreholes, a newly constructed bridge and a community gate across various communities in the constituency, reaffirming his commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to his constituents.


The commissioning exercise, held on Monday, August 17, 2026, attracted prominent political leaders, government functionaries, community leaders, party stakeholders and residents who gathered to witness the formal delivery of the projects to the beneficiary communities.

The projects are strategically spread across different wards in Ibadan North Constituency II.


The six motorised boreholes are located at Ile Eja Agbowo in Ward 12, Idi Seke Bodija in Ward 12, Police Barracks Sango in Ward 11, Leventis Area in Ward 7, Okoro Community in Ward 8, and Ago Tapa Mokola in Ward 9. He also donated a generator to each of the beneficiary communities to power the boreholes.


Also commissioned was the bridge constructed at Iso Isu in Ward 12, an intervention designed to improve connectivity, facilitate movement and ease transportation challenges within the community.

Similarly, the Oke Itunnu Community Gate Project in Ward 7 was commissioned as part of the lawmaker’s broader constituency development interventions aimed at improving community infrastructure and enhancing the general wellbeing of residents.

Speaking during the commissioning exercise, Hon. Babajide Gabriel, popularly known as Jagaban, reiterated his commitment to responsive and people-oriented representation, stressing that his mandate was not only about legislation but also about ensuring that his constituents experience meaningful development at the grassroots.
He noted that the projects were carefully selected to respond to some of the immediate needs of the people, particularly access to potable water, improved mobility and community infrastructure.
The lawmaker expressed his determination to continue to identify areas of need across the constituency and pursue interventions capable of positively impacting the lives of residents.
The commissioning also provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to express their appreciation to the lawmaker for what they described as practical demonstrations of the dividends of democracy.
Residents of the various beneficiary communities, in their separate remarks, thanked Hon. Babajide Gabriel for remembering their communities and delivering projects that directly address their needs.
They particularly applauded the provision of motorised boreholes, describing access to clean and reliable water as a critical need that would significantly improve the daily lives of residents.

The residents urged the lawmaker to sustain the tempo of his developmental interventions and continue to ensure that constituents feel the impact of democratic representation.
They further pledged to continue giving him their maximum support and cooperation in whatever capacity he requires their assistance, describing his constituency projects as evidence of his commitment to the people.
The various commissioning exercises were conducted by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hamdy Mustapha; Hon. Olufunke Comforter, Oyo State House of Assembly member representing Ibadan North Constituency I; Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), Federal House of Representatives member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency; Hon. Sikiru Sanda, Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of Oyo State ALGON; and Hon. Temitope Glorious, Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Ibadan North Local Government APM Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Ademuyiwa; Chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency, Hon. Adebowale Falana; Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Julian Nwachuku; Babaloja of Bodija Market, Alhaji S.A. Jimoh; Chairman, Bodija Market Foodstuff Association, Alhaji Oke Darosa; Ibadan North Local Government Assistant Secretary, Hon. Olawumi Orebinrin; Ibadan North Local Government APM General Secretary, Hon. Afolabi Nurudeen Demola; Ibadan North Local Government APM Women Leader, Mrs. Adebola Babalola; Ibadan North Local Government Youth Leader, Hon. Suleiman Sambo; and Ibadan North Local Government APM Organising Secretary, Hon. Adewumi Adeagbo.
Ward executives, councillors, supervisory councillors, special assistants, party leaders, stakeholders and residents from across the constituency were also present at the commissioning.
The projects mark another significant milestone in Hon. Babajide Gabriel’s efforts to translate his legislative mandate into visible and sustainable grassroots development.
With the projects now formally commissioned and delivered for public use, residents across the beneficiary communities are expected to enjoy improved access to potable water, better connectivity and enhanced community infrastructure.
The interventions further reinforce Hon. Babajide Gabriel’s commitment to a representation model centred on sustainable development, improved living and tangible dividends of democracy, as he continues to prioritise projects capable of making a direct difference in the lives of the people of Ibadan North Constituency II.
