The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Atiba, Afijio, Oyo East and Oyo West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Afolabi Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Aloma, has congratulated Surveyor Moshood A. Akinwande on his appointment as the President of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).
Aloma, who is also a fellow alumnus of Ladigbolu Grammar School (LADIGRAM), Oyo, described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Surveyor Akinwande’s professionalism, integrity, and outstanding contributions to the surveying profession in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message issued on Monday to commemorate Surveyor Akinwande’s swearing-in by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Aloma expressed delight over the landmark achievement, noting that the appointment has brought honour not only to the surveying profession but also to Ladigbolu Grammar School and Oyo town.
He said the emergence of Surveyor Akinwande as President of SURCON serves as an inspiration to both current students and alumni of the institution, demonstrating that dedication, excellence, and commitment to service are always rewarded.
Aloma prayed for divine wisdom, sound health, strength, and grace for the new SURCON President as he assumes the responsibility of leading the Council, expressing confidence that his tenure would be marked by innovation, impactful reforms, and remarkable achievements that would further advance the surveying profession in Nigeria.
The PDP House of Representatives candidate also congratulated the President-General of the National Old Students Association of Ladigbolu Grammar School, Pastor Mrs. Abigail Olufunmilayo Ojoawo, the National Executive Council of the Association, members of the 1981 set, and the entire LADIGRAM alumni community for producing another distinguished leader of national repute.
He wished Surveyor Akinwande a successful and impactful tenure, while expressing optimism that his leadership would strengthen SURCON and elevate the standards of professional surveying practice across the country.
