
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan North Local Government has recorded another major political milestone as Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle popularly known as DON emerged as the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Also emerging victorious at the party’s primary congress were Hon. Olufunke Comforter, who clinched the APM ticket for Ibadan North State Constituency I, and Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, who secured the party’s ticket for Ibadan North State Constituency II.
The primary election, which took place at Yemetu, Ibadan in Ibadan North Local Government Area, was witnessed by party faithfuls, leaders, stakeholders, youths and supporters from across the twelve wards of the local government.


The exercise was described by party leaders and observers as peaceful, transparent, credible and highly organized, reflecting the internal democracy and unity within the APM family in Ibadan North.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, party stakeholders commended delegates and members for their orderly conduct and commitment towards ensuring a rancour-free exercise.

Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, while addressing supporters after emerging as the party’s House of Representatives candidate, appreciated party leaders, executives, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
He described his emergence as a collective victory for the people of Ibadan North and pledged to provide quality, people-oriented and impactful representation if elected in 2027.
“This victory belongs to all members and supporters of our great party. I am deeply humbled by the trust and confidence reposed in me.
By the grace of God, we will continue to work together to ensure better representation, development and progress for our people,” he stated.
Similarly, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel and Hon. Olufunke Comfortappreciated party faithfuls for their support and assured residents of effective representation, inclusive leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
The atmosphere at the venue became electrifying as supporters celebrated the emergence of the candidates with songs, chants and jubilation, expressing confidence in their capacity to deliver victory for the party during the 2027 general elections.
Party leaders present at the congress charged members to remain united, steadfast and committed towards strengthening the party’s structure across all wards in Ibadan North Local Government.
The congress further reaffirmed the growing strength and acceptance of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) within Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Oyo State at large.
