
The member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has extended warm greetings to Muslims across Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
Agboworin, in a statement signed by his Media Group in Ibadan, on Wednesday, urged Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, obedience and peaceful coexistence, which the Eid-el-Kabir festival represents.
He also called for prayers and support for victims of the recent abduction in Ogbomoso who are still being held captive.


The federal lawmaker expressed sadness over the security situation in parts of Oyo State, particularly the recent abduction in Ogbomoso School, describing the incident as painful and disturbing.

He sympathised with the families of those affected and prayed for the safe return of victims reportedly still in captivity.

According to him, “As we celebrate this sacred festival, I urge all Muslim faithful to continue to pray for peace, unity and security in our dear state and the nation at large. My thoughts are with the families of the victims of the unfortunate incident in Ogbomoso. We pray that Almighty Allah grants freedom and safety to those still in captivity and comforts their loved ones.”
Agboworin also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to promote love, tolerance and mutual understanding irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He further appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts towards rescuing the abducted victims and restoring confidence among residents of the affected communities.
He wished Muslims a peaceful and rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that the season brings renewed hope and blessings to every home.
