The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has reaffirmed that the IGBEGA OYO vision remains alive and active, declaring that the movement continues to represent a strong and enduring agenda for the growth, development, and progress of Oyo State.

Ogundoyin made this known in an appreciation message addressed to supporters, political associates, party faithful, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents across Oyo State following recent political developments surrounding the emergence of a consensus governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi.

The Speaker expressed profound gratitude to the people of Oyo State for the overwhelming love, encouragement, support, and solidarity shown to him throughout his IGBEGA OYO political journey and his 2027 gubernatorial aspiration.

He particularly appreciated political leaders, elders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, youths, women groups, and the entire people of Ibarapaland for standing firmly behind the IGBEGA OYO vision from its inception.

Ogundoyin gave special recognition to the people of Ibarapa East State Constituency, whom he described as the foundation of his political strength and unwavering support over the years.

“My heart is filled with gratitude to the people of Oyo State for the love, support, and belief shown throughout this journey. I deeply appreciate our leaders, elders, traditional rulers, political associates, and the good people of Ibarapaland, especially my constituents in Ibarapa East State Constituency, for standing solidly behind the IGBEGA OYO dream and my 2027 gubernatorial ambition,” he stated.

The Oyo Speaker stressed that despite the decision of the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State to adopt a consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election, his loyalty and commitment to the party, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the party’s governorship candidate remain unwavering.

According to him, personal ambition must always be subordinated to party unity, political stability, and the collective interest of the people.

“Regardless of the circumstances, my commitment and loyalty to the ideals of IGBEGA OYO remain steadfast — anytime, any day. Though the leadership of our great party, the APM, has chosen a consensus governorship candidate, I remain loyal and committed to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, our new party, and the party’s governorship candidate,” Ogundoyin declared.

He emphasized that the IGBEGA OYO movement was never built around personal ambition alone, but around a genuine desire to promote inclusive governance, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and accelerated socio-economic progress across the state.

“IGBEGA OYO is not dead; it remains a living vision and an enduring agenda for the growth, progress, and development of Oyo State at all levels,” the Speaker added.

Ogundoyin further urged his supporters and members of the movement not to lose hope, insisting that the ideals of the initiative would continue to inspire positive political participation and developmental advocacy across Oyo State.

“To the youths and faithful supporters of the IGBEGA OYO vision, never stop believing that this generation can shape a greater future for our state. The journey continues, and hope remains alive,” he said.

The Speaker also called on party members and residents of the state to continue supporting the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and rally behind the governorship candidate of the party in the collective interest of peace, unity, and continued development in Oyo State.
