Barely days after their resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, and Hon. Dhikrullahi Adedeji Olajide, widely known as Odidiomo, paid a courtesy visit to the Onido of Idoland, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola, to seek royal blessings on their political aspirations.

The visit, which attracted attention among political stakeholders and residents of Ido Local Government, was described as a move rooted in respect for tradition, leadership, and community values.

Hon. Odidiomo, a two-term member representing Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is currently nursing a governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, political rumors making rounds within the state suggest that he may eventually emerge as the candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District.

During the visit, the duo received prayers and royal blessings from the monarch, who reportedly charged them to remain committed to the peace, development, and progress of Oyo State and their respective constituencies.

Speaking after the meeting, Hon. KSA said the visit was necessary as a mark of respect for traditional institutions and to seek divine and royal guidance as they continue their political journey.

According to him, leadership should be built on humility, consultation, and service to the people.

“We came to seek the blessings of our royal father because tradition and culture remain important in our society. Whatever aspiration one has in life, especially in leadership, prayers and guidance are essential. Our focus remains the growth and development of our people,” KSA stated.

The visit also reflected the longstanding relationship between the political figures and the traditional institution in Idoland.

After leaving the palace, the two politicians, alongside supporters and associates, proceeded to the Ido Central Mosque for Jumat prayers, where they joined other Muslim faithful in worship.

Also present at the mosque was Waliuyullahi Adekola Sanusi, who offered prayers for peace, unity, and success for the aspiring leaders and the entire Oyo State.
