We, the concerned citizens of the old Ifedapo Federal Constituency comprising ATISBO, Saki East, and Saki West wish to register our strong objection to the purported APC leaders’ consensus list currently being circulated in Oyo State.
It is unacceptable that an incumbent House of Representatives member, already serving his third term, is now allegedly leveraging his position and resources to secure a place on the consensus list for a fourth term. Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem has demonstrated a clear lack of capacity, vision, and innovation. Despite the substantial constituency allowances released to his office on a quarterly basis, there is little to nothing tangible on ground to show for it in our communities.
We will not tolerate the imposition of a “siddon look” legislator who appears more interested in personal business ventures than in public service. It has not escaped our notice that while our roads remain unmotorable, our schools underfunded, and our youths unemployed, the same period has seen significant personal investments, property acquisitions, and the purchase of multiple trailers for private farm produce warehousing.
Hon. Kareem’s continued representation would be a disaster for this constituency and a disservice to the APC as a party.
In contrast, the name of Dr. Ismail Adewoyin PhD has consistently stood out as that of a party faithful, true community leader and public advocate. Beyond Saki and the old Ifedapo Constituency, he has rendered selfless service across OkeOgun, most notably through his five-year advocacy for an OkeOgun indigene to occupy Agodi House. He documented this struggle professionally in his 179-page book, “For Prosperity.” Replacing such a man of proven integrity, widespread popularity, and grassroots acceptance with a non-performing incumbent would only spell electoral doom for the party.
We also note that Dr. Adewoyin is not the only qualified alternative. Dr. Femi Oyedemi, a respected academic and community leader, Hon. Yakubu Dumbic, and several other capable sons and daughters of this constituency are equally well placed to represent our people with competence and distinction.
This is our appeal and our protest: The APC must reject imposition and embrace merit. The people of ATISBO, Saki East, and Saki West deserve representation that brings development, innovation, and accountability — not one that recycles stagnation.
