The Executive Chairman of Oluyole loal government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

His resignation was contained in a letter dated May 5 and addressed to the ward 7 chairman, Mr Mojeed Raji Iyan.

Olatunji, who currently serves as chairman of the local government, announced his resignation in a letter reportedly addressed to the leadership of the party in his ward,

Though details surrounding his next political move remain unclear as of press time but it was gathered that it may not be unconnected with ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections and growing internal disagreements within the party structure at the national level.

Olatunji thanked the leadership of the party at all levels for what he described as a rare privilege to serve the people in different capacities on the platform of the PDP.

He specifically thanked the state chairman and vice chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro and Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke for their support and guidance at all times.

He particularly expressed gratitude to Otunba Seye Famojuro, whom he described as his political benefactor, committed to the advancement of his political career.

He assured that he would communicate his next political decision to the people as wider consultations are still ongoing among critical stakeholders and leaders in Oluyole LG.
