May Day: “Workers Are the Engine Room of Progress” – Hon Comforter Hails Workers, Welcomes Constituents to New Month

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency I and Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniji Olajide, has extended warm felicitations to workers across her constituency, Ibadan North, Oyo State, Nigeria, and globally on the occasion of Workers’ Day, while also welcoming all to the new month.

According to the statement made available to newsmen by her media team, Hon Comforter commended the resilience, dedication, and sacrifices of workers who continue to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of society. She described workers as the engine room of progress, whose unwavering commitment sustains the economy and strengthens communities.

Hon Comforter appreciated civil servants, artisans, traders, professionals, and all categories of workers for their steadfast service, noting that their efforts remain invaluable to nation-building and grassroots development.

As Chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Comforter reaffirmed her commitment to advancing policies and initiatives that promote workers’ welfare, gender equity, and inclusive social development.

Welcoming constituents and Nigerians into the new month, she expressed optimism for renewed hope and greater accomplishments.

“I celebrate all hardworking men and women today. There is no doubt that you are the engine room of progress.Your dedication and perseverance are deeply appreciated. As we step into a new month, I pray that it brings you peace, progress, good health, and abundant blessings. May your labour yield fruitful rewards, and may joy never depart from your homes.”

She further urged workers to remain diligent, united, and hopeful, emphasizing that collective effort remains key to achieving sustainable development.

Hon Comforter concluded by wishing all workers a happy Workers’ Day celebration and a prosperous new month.
