…Residents cite improved mobility, security, and quality of life as key gains.

Residents of Kosobo Community, Zone 7B, in Chief Ashamu Layout Area of Oyo East Local Government have commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde for the completion of road infrastructure projects within the area.

The commendation was contained in a letter issued by the community and signed by its spokesperson, Engr. Tonie Akanno, who expressed appreciation for the state government’s commitment to grassroots development.

According to the statement, the newly completed roads constructed with asphalt surfacing and accompanied by drainage systems have significantly improved transportation and living conditions in the area. The roads include Chief Ashamu Road, Olayiwola Street, Catholic Convent Road, as well as adjoining link roads connecting to the Oyo-Akinmorin axis.

The community noted that the projects have enhanced mobility, boosted security, and elevated the overall standard of living for residents. It also acknowledged the installation of streetlights in the area, describing it as a complementary effort that has further improved safety.

“We are grateful for the attention given to our community through these impactful projects. They reflect a clear commitment to the welfare of the people and the equitable spread of development across the state,” the statement read.

The residents also recognised the contributions of Monsurat Sunmonu, applauding her longstanding efforts toward the development of Oyo town and her role in facilitating infrastructural growth.

In addition, the community praised the contractor handling the project for delivering the work promptly with minimal disruption to residents’ daily activities, describing the execution as efficient and commendable.

Reaffirming their appreciation, the community stated that the successful completion of the projects underscores the Makinde administration’s commitment to fulfilling its development agenda and improving the well-being of citizens across Oyo State.
