A leading gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, has raised alarm over the cloning of his Facebook account by suspected fraudsters allegedly using the platform to disseminate false and misleading information.

In a public notice made available to journalists, Adegbola cautioned members of the public against engaging with any suspicious account bearing his name, warning that such platforms are being manipulated to spread content linked to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) without his knowledge or consent.
The APC chieftain emphasized that the cloned account is being used to misinform unsuspecting users and potentially defraud individuals, urging the public to exercise vigilance in their online interactions.
He further advised supporters, political associates, and the general public to rely solely on his verified social media handles and official communication channels for authentic information regarding his activities and political engagements.
Adegbola reiterated his commitment to transparency and integrity, stressing that he would never communicate through unofficial or unverified platforms.
He further used the medium to state that he still remains and stands firmly in the All Progressives Congress, a staunch supporter of the Renew Hope Agenda of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
He also called on relevant authorities and social media administrators to take swift action in identifying and disabling the fraudulent account to prevent further misuse.
The warning comes amid growing concerns over identity theft and cyber impersonation targeting public figures, particularly within the political space.
