..as swift Response by Oyo State Fire Services Agency Averts Casualties
A midnight fire outbreak has destroyed a furniture workshop at Idi-Ape, along the busy Iwo Road axis of Ibadan, with emergency responders preventing what could have escalated into a major disaster.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident, which occurred in the late hours, drew an immediate response from the Oyo State Fire Services Agency.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.
He said, “Firefighters, led by Chief Fire Superintendent Adekola, were promptly deployed to the scene following a distress call.
“On arrival, the team met the workshop constructed with combustible materials and used for furniture production fully engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing into the surrounding area.
Demonstrating tactical efficiency, the fire crew swiftly initiated a coordinated firefighting operation, successfully containing the blaze and preventing its spread to adjoining shops and nearby commercial structures, including a bank located opposite the facility.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were recorded, a development attributed to the rapid intervention of the emergency responders.
Preliminary findings by the agency indicate that the fire was triggered by the unattended burning of refuse in close proximity to the workshop.
Despite the destruction of the workshop, officials disclosed that properties valued at millions of naira were salvaged during the operation. Firefighters were also reported to have returned safely to base after bringing the situation under control.
The agency has reiterated its call on residents and business owners to adopt safe waste disposal practices and adhere strictly to fire safety precautions to prevent avoidable incidents.
