The Oyo State Fire Service Agency under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has extended warm New Year greetings to residents of the state, expressing gratitude to God for the gift of life and reflecting on the achievements recorded in 2025 through collective effort and support.

In a New Year message released and made available to newsmen on Thursday, the Agency expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation and unwavering support, which were described as key drivers of the modest but impactful successes recorded in the outgoing year.

The Agency noted that the confidence and encouragement received from stakeholders continue to serve as a major source of inspiration in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.

The Fire Service Agency paid special tribute to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, D.SC, GSSRS, for his consistent and unflinching support toward strengthening fire safety and emergency response across the state.

According to the Agency, the Governor’s approvals, strategic interventions, and provision of modern safety and rescue infrastructure have significantly raised the standard of safety and emergency preparedness in Oyo State, while also ensuring a safer environment for residents.

The Agency assured the people of the state that, with sustained government backing and improved operational capacity, 2026 will witness enhanced performance and better service delivery compared to 2025.

Commendation was also extended to the management and staff of the Oyo State Fire Service Agency, most especially the General Manager, Akinyinka Akinyemi Taiwo, for their dedication, resilience, and professionalism.

The Agency described its workforce as the backbone and driving force behind its performance and operational success, noting that its commitment remains indispensable to effective emergency response.

The Oyo State Fire Service Agency concluded by wishing all residents a safe, happy, and prosperous New Year, while reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout 2026 and beyond.
