The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) has taken a significant step towards promoting youth development and community engagement through its recent visitation to Olorunsogo Local Government, Igbeti. Led by Comr Legacy, the NYC delegation engaged with prominent stakeholders, including Hon Qoseem Olayanju Oorelope, the Local Government Chairman, His Highness The ONIGBETI OF IGBETI, ACP MUHAMMAD, Police Area Commander, and the Amotekun Commander.

This landmark visit underscores NYC’s commitment to empowering the youth and fostering community development. The delegation’s interactions with key stakeholders yielded positive outcomes, with all parties expressing their commitment to continued collaboration and partnership.
During the visit, the NYC Oyo State Chapter commended Hon Oorelope for his tireless efforts in promoting youth development and assured him of their continued support. Comr Legacy specifically appreciated Hon Oorelope for being the first Local Government Chairman in Oyo State to appoint the youngest Chief of Staff, setting a precedent for other councils to follow.
This bold move has been hailed as a game-changer in promoting youth empowerment and participation in governance, and the NYC Oyo State Chapter applauds Hon Oorelope for his commitment to youth development.
The Local Government Chairman, in response, welcomed the NYC delegation and pledged to collaborate with the Olorunsogo Local Government Chapter of the Youth Congress to promote the welfare of the youth.
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to His Highness The ONIGBETI OF IGBETI, who is scheduled to be decorated as PATRON on December 30th, 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development. His Highness expressed his appreciation for the love and support shown by the youths of the community and pledged to continue supporting the Congress’s efforts to promote youth development.
Furthermore, the NYC team received assurances of support and collaboration from ACP MUHAMMAD, Police Area Commander, and the Amotekun Commander, who welcomed the delegation and pledged to work together to combat crime and ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
