Splash FM Interview: Gov Makinde Has Delivered Broad Youth Empowerment in Oyo —Agency for Youth Chair’ Falana declares

The Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has commended His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, for what he described as unprecedented and comprehensive empowerment of young people across all sectors in the Pacesetter state.

Speaking during a feature interview on Splash 105.5 FM, IJOBA TIWA last weekend, Falana stated that the Makinde-led administration has not only prioritized youth inclusion in governance but has also backed its commitment with strategic investments in skills development, education, job creation, entrepreneurship, and sports.

Falana highlighted several programmes initiated under Governor Makinde’s leadership, noting that thousands of young people have benefitted from training schemes, grants, digital literacy projects, and employment opportunities, ditto 658 clusters of youth registered under the agency.

According to him, the agency has recorded measurable improvements in youth participation due to what he called the governor’s “forward-looking approach” to development.

“Governor Makinde has empowered Oyo youth across all sectors—technology, agriculture, creative industries, sports, and public service. His policies are intentional, and the impact is visible. We have young entrepreneurs scaling their businesses, young professionals gaining global-standard training, and more youths now positioned for leadership roles,” Falana stated.

He added that the administration’s commitment to expanding opportunities for young people has helped reduce unemployment pressures and boosted innovation in the state’s economy in the areas of digital marketing, Amazon Kindle Publishing, Artificial intelligence, web designing, turning waste into wealth in the areas of reusable, recycling, and reused.

Falana urged the youth beneficiaries in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, vocational work, and selected youth for Oyo State sub-national African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) pitching to utilize the opportunities effectively and contribute meaningfully to the growth of Oyo State.

The interview also touched on several thousand empowerment and on the agency’s recently concluded 5-tour of the incoming Grammy award winner, Davido where over 30,000 audiences watched the concert live at the Liberty Stadium, in attendance were the Oyo State Governor, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, and Osun State counterpart, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, and the host of others.

Falana reveals upcoming initiatives, including expanded vocational programmes, digital-skills hubs, and community-based youth engagement platforms. He reaffirmed the agency’s resolve to continue working in line with the governor’s vision of building a prosperous and youth-driven Oyo State.

He, however used the medium to applaud the governor’s approval of the reconstruction of the Agency where construction has commenced immediately stressing that on completion, Oyo State Youth constituency will have all that it takes to continue shining on the global stage.

Falana in conclusion admonished the pacesetter youth to remain focused, innovative, and continue to embark on the course that will further uplift Oyo State on the global map.
